Otter Dance Community Building- Open Heart Process
August 23 @ 10:00 am - August 25 @ 2:00 pm$325
The Otter Dance Community is diverse and global. We are blessed to have many common backgrounds and beliefs. We honor all experiences and welcome those who are feeling called to join in Ceremony and teachings, both in person and virtually. The Open Heart Process is a valuable tool that we can take with us into the larger community and use for expanded and honest communication. You are invited to join in this intimate and safe space of communication, trust, growth, and honesty.
The Open Heart Process is an experiential workshop in which participants are asked to take off their armor and show their true selves to each other- in other words, to speak from your heart and how you feel rather than tell stories from your head. You will learn how to come to a true consensus as a group by allowing each other your differences. You will learn practical applications in your life and a new way to relate to those in your community.
The Open Heart Process is based on M. Scott Peck’s work of Community Building (Different Drummer and The Road Less Traveled). Jeanne White Eagle and John Pehrson adapted the process to be more reflective of the Dance Community, and they call it the Open Heart Process.
” A community is a group of two or more people who, regardless of the diversity of their backgrounds (social, spiritual, educational, ethnic, economic, political, etc.) have been able to accept and transcend their differences, enabling them to communicate effectively and openly and to work together toward goals identified as being for their common good”
-M. Scott Peck.
